One characteristic that differentiates Navarran Pacharán from others is the concentration of sloe berries used per liter of finished product. The Regulatory Council insists that Navarran Pacharán have between 125 and 150 grams, a quantity significantly higher than that required by the nationwide regulations which only require 62 grams. In addition, Pacharán produced in Navarra region cannot contain added colors or aromas and the fermentation must take place over the course of a minimum of one month and a maximum of eight.
